Abstract

The article reports on the agreement entered by Analytical Spectral Devices Inc., Paprican, and the Pulp and Paper Research Industry of Canada. The agreement was made to develop the industry's first application of near-infrared technology, which will be used to measure pulp brightness and lignin content. Paprican director of contracts, patents and licensing Chris Kanters discloses that the goal is to simplify an expensive, labor-intensive chemical testing procedure.
