Abstract
- The article focuses on the examination of examples of chant, song and propaganda from the mid-1950s that influenced the political future of southern British Togoland. The propaganda provide a means of understanding the arguments, ideas and idioms that unite different people behind the reunification project of Togoland. The main source of tension within this political movement was about the unequal relationships that resulted from uneven educational provision.
