Abstract
- This article talks about relics found at an ancient Roman flour mill that suggest that the site was used to test various designs of mill stones that could take advantage of the power of hydraulically driven mills. According to the author, an ancient milling installation at Barbegal, in the south of France, reflects a change that may prove that the ancient Romans were even more technologically advanced that was previously believed. The site had 16 millstone vaults and 16 water-powered millstones.
