Abstract

This article profiles Laura Klauberg, Vice President-Media, Americas for Unilever. When developing a media strategy, she enlisted the help of her daughters, ages 16, 19, and 21. Klauberg noticed that her daughters' media habits suggested that they watched very little live television, preferring TiVo or boxed DVD sets. Klauberg considers upfront television to be a ritual that has become ill-suited to Unilever's planning cycle.
