Abstract

The article presents French table etiquette lessons from Countess Marie de Tilly. She teaches etiquette at La Belle Ecole, a school created for the express purpose of reviving and reinforcing the famous French art de vivre. Tines should be down on the table so to see the family crest on it. In France, place one's hands on the table not under it. Ladies should put their elbows on the table with hands crossed in the air. Never cut the salad.
