Abstract

The article focuses on a study conducted to explore the research material used by agricultural economists for their studies in the U.S. The research is based on the study of the literature of the U.S. Agricultural Economics Journal during 2001 to 2005. The analysis of bibliographical citations provided an insight into the utilization of research materials by the researchers. It was detected that, journals and books are the primary types of materials used by the agricultural economists, whereas government publications and working papers account for the other two major resources for the researchers. The websites are not considered as scholarly resources by the agriculture economists.
