Traffic obstruction involves a financial loss to the community, the amount cf which it is difficult to determine. In the present article the author estimates the value of the time lost by different classes of vehicle and, on a basis of this assessment, shows that a small repair operation in a busy thoroughfare cost the public over £300 a day for eight weeks.
