Abstract
- The article explores the comparison of the processes of globalization from the perspectives of orthodox theory and endogenous growth theory. The author attributes the failures of globalization to the power of elite interests to implement policies and maintain the status quo. He argues that the potential of serious negative consequences resulting from continued promotion of the status quo can change elites' perceptions of self interest and stimulate collaborations and coalitions to make reforms.
