Abstract

The article reports on the studies about styrene, an industrial chemical which is known to damage auditory structures and functions in the rat. The studies were carried out with Long-Evans rats. It was found that the-same amount of styrene-induced hearing loss can be found by using concentrations approximately 200 parts per million lesser in active rats than in sedentary rats.
