NEI observes May as Healthy Vision Month.

The article highlights the activities of the National Eye Institute (NEI) in observance of the Healthy Vision Month in Bethesda, Maryland in May 2007. NEI is encouraging individuals to undergo comprehensive dilated eye examinations. It also aims to spread the word about glaucoma to family and friends by using the Institute's electronic-cards and brochures. People at higher risk for developing glaucoma include African-Americans aged more than 40 years and everyone aged more than 60 years.
