Abstract
- The article examines the dilemma posed to the fast food company McDonald's by the bid of its headquarters city of Chicago, Illinois to host the 2016 Olympic Games. The benefits to McDonald's of a Chicago Olympics are cited. The company's role as a major sponsor of the Games means Olympic rules forbid it being part of Chicago's bid. McDonald's executives are not prevented from participating, and their role in fund raising and other activities for the Chicago bid are presented.
