Abstract
- The article presents an update on trends in patient education as of May 2007. According to Mary Szczepanic, manager of Cancer Education, Support, Outreach, Research and Registry at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, patient education is a priority at Riverside Hospital. Kerry Harwood, a clinical nurse specialist, also considers patient education a priority. Harwood notes that Duke University Hospital's Cancer Education Program is grouped into essential and elective education.
