Presents the clinical implications of new influenza research. New study which used reverse genetics to construct influenza viruses; Detailed molecular studies which would facilitate the identification of antigenic epitopes to include in vaccines to protect against related pandemic strains; Study which also suggests strategies for the treatment of patients infected with highly virulent strains; Other findings of the study.
