Abstract

The article discusses the primary sources of engagement "Engaged Surrender" that include the patriarchal tradition, secular readings of Islam, and colonial distortions of Muslim societies. It concerns Muslim women's longing for liberation. Meanwhile, Islamic philosopher, Azizah al-Hibri, guide the women through freedom and justice in the Qur'an that would protect them from colonial pseudo-liberation.
