Simply Hexagonal Stacks.

The article reports on a study conducted by researchers to analyze the hexagonally close-packed (hcp) structure of nanoparticles in which two layers stack in an ABAB sequence. It is stated that researchers have detailed why the layers of the hcp structure did not stack in threefold hollow sites and instead form a simple hexagonal lattice structure. Moreover, it also includes the findings of researchers who calculated the total electrostatic and dispersive energies for different lattices that attribute to the stability of the open simple hexagonal packing arrangement of nanoparticles.
