Abstract

The article presents details of a coordinated multidisciplinary environmental monitoring network, named INDOFLUX, proposed by the Department of Science and Technology of India. The objectives of the proposed INDOFLUX was developed by a team of scientists from India and the U.S. in a workshop held in July 2006. This environmental monitoring network is aimed to improve the scientific understanding of atmospheric, oceanic and terrestrial environments in India, the nature and pace of environmental change in India, and its impact on provision of ecosystem services.
