Coping with cancer.

The article focuses on the guidelines published by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) on dealing with cancer in the workplace. It covers diagnosis, communication, treatment, convalescence and return to work. The CIPD proposes that the employer makes early contact with the employee for good will, but without being intrusive. It also proposes a phased return to work, a reduction of physical and psychological stress, and altered time management, if necessary.
