Abstract
- The article explains some educators' opinions that the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) hampers states' ability to help rural school districts. U.S. educators from predominantly rural states explained their position during a meeting to discuss NCLB's 2007 reauthorization. During the discussion the National Rural Education Association and similar groups supported the stand that the federal government should supplement and support unique education needs rather than dictate states' efforts.
