Abstract
- The article reports on recent incidents of attacks by insurgents in Iraq. Two Iraqi soccer players of local teams Muhammad Hammed Nawaf and Muhammad Meshaan were killed by masked gunmen on March 1, 2007 in Ramadi, Iraq. The armed men claimed that the players had ties with a group that opposed the Sunni insurgency. Bodies of 16 policemen were found in Iraq on March 2, 2007, a day after a militant Sunni Islamic group declared the kidnapping of 18 officers of the Shiite-dominated Interior Ministry.
