Abstract
- This article examines the nationalization of foreigners in Los Angeles, California in the twenty-first century. The author discusses the meaning of "Americanization," and asserts that foreigners in the U.S. clearly undergo a transformation into Americans, so far as to support the bounding of their new national identity and community, to the extent that they feel future immigration should be controlled. Topics of discussion include the immigrants' views on language policies, immigration regulation, cultural plurism, and nationalism.
