Abstract

The article discusses 15-year-old U.S. inventor Grayson Rosenberger, who invented an artificial leg to help Third World amputees. Rosenberger sheathed the prosthesis in Bubble Wrap and packing tape to give it a cosmetic covering. Amputees in the Third World are looked down on, the covering helps them blend in more. His invention won him a $10,000 prize from the company that produces Bubble Wrap.
