Abstract

The article reports on the involvement of the 2-keto-myo-Inositol dehydratase Gene of Sinorhizobium fredii USDA191 required for the utilization of myo-Inositol. These include Sinorhizobium fredii USDA191, a gram-negative bacterium, capable of forming nitrogen-fixing nodules on soybean roots, and the USDA191 idhA gene encoding myo-inositol uitilization, which is involved in competitive nodulation and nitrogen fixation. The presence of dehydratase activity in the USDA191 cell is discussed.
