Abstract: The article states that the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate have introduced legislation that would make it illegal for health insurance companies to deny coverage to healthy people or charge higher premiums based solely on genetic predisposition to certain diseases. The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act would forbid employers to make job decisions based on an employee's genetic information. Representative Louise M. Slaughter cosponsored the bill in the House of Representatives.
