Abstract

An abstract of the article "Nitric oxide derived free radicals impair placental amino-acid uptake: implications for fetal growth and programming" is presented. This study aims to understand the regulation of fetal growth in association of size during birth and morbidity in adulthood. The effect of nitric oxide on fetal growth was prevented through super-oxide dismutase or hemoglobin and suggests that the nitric acid-derived free radical peroxynitrite changed the transfer of placental nutrient.
