Abstract

The article focuses on globalisation of the media. Globalisation in the media is a phenomenon which operates on multiple levels. The text image convergence currently discernible in the world of the print media is an example of technological globalisation. The reality is that the future is still a way off-but not as far as it once was. Television advertisements promise a world of interactive services in the domestic living room virtually now. However, there are enormous hazards of a cumbersome bureaucracy in the information technology market. One of the greatest concerns of those who seek to resist the globalisation of the media is the perceived impact it will have upon local media output.
