Abstract

The article discusses a study on the captive breeding of wild rabbits. The main purpose of the study is to design a semi-extensive system for breeding wild rabbits in captivity that offers an efficient way to maintain the genetic diversity of rabbits. The rabbits used for the study originated from San Silvestre de Guzman in Southern Spain. Key findings of study indicate that the use of artificial burrows contribute to resolve most of the management problems associated with wild rabbit breeding in captivity.
