Abstract
- The article assesses the importance and clinical usefulness of antibasal ganglia antibodies (ABGAs). ABGAs as a diagnostic marker are useful because they support the clinical diagnosis of Sydenham's chorea and post-streptococcal acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. A brief discussion on how ABGA-associated disorders should be treated and the clinicopathological spectrum of the disorders associated with ABGAs is provided.
