Abstract: The article reports that Leicester University's Control and Instrumentation Research Group had been awarded £500,000 to help build collaborative projects with academics in India. As part of the Great Britain/India Education and Research Initiative, the award came after the group received a £435,000 platform grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council to allow it to retain key research staff as it searches for new applications for its work.
