Abstract

The article reports that Toyota is bracing itself for a consumer backlash as it comes closer to edging out General Motors as the world's leading automobile manufacturer. Toyota recently created a new position, VP-strategic research, planning, and corporate communications at Toyota Motor North America. Along with the creation of this new role, Toyota has shifted its marketing strategy from an environmental approach to one that shows its commitment and connection to manufacturing in America.
