The article discusses the study on the use of chiral jacket for iodine atoms to promote non-enzymatic, high-yielding, enantioselective cyclization which was only made possible through biosynthesis of hopene molecules. The chemical jacket controls the conversion of simple carbon chains into complex iodine-containing molecules.
