Abstract

The article examines American philosopher John Dewey's critique of philosopher Immanuel Kant in the light of interpretations of Dewey's early works. The author asserts that the works of Dewey depicted Kant as a transitional philosopher, whose experiences were over and against absolute idealism. He also refers to the criticism of German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and his successors about the lack of proper psychology of experience of Kant.
