Abstract
- The article chronicles selected current events in 1971. East Pakistan declared independence on March 26, as Bangladesh, West Pakistan forces move in and defeat the rebels. China is accepted as member of the United Nations on October 25, while Nationalist China is expelled. The Columbian government attempts to protect national film industry by requiring exhibition of Colombian short films at first-run theaters on December 17.
