Abstract

The article talks about the source separated, household organics collection programs in some of the municipalities and counties in the U.S. Residents of Alameda County, California are offered to put food waste and food-soiled paper and corrugated in their 96-gallon green waste carts. San Francisco, California's Fantastic Three residential recycling and composting program is considered the most comprehensive residential organics collection program in the county. The programs implemented in the counties of Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington are discussed.
