Abstract

The article presents the annual State of Safety report in the U.S. in 2005. The report is a yearly snapshot of where the safety industry stands according to the most recent injury and fatality counts and rates. The highest fatality rate in terms of occupations include fishing and related fishing workers with 118.4, next would be logging workers with 92.9, aircraft pilots and flight engineers with 66.9, structural iron and steel workers with 55.6 while recyclable material collectors get 43.8. INSET: Nonfatal injuries rate drops in 2005.
