Abstract
- The article reports on the increasing crime rates and its association with the declining legitimacy of key institutions in Venezuela. A large number of developing countries encountered rapid increases in crime rates during the past 20 years. Studies reveal that these two are predominantly unrelated, with the partial exception of robbery.
