Abstract
- The article reports that elders in Kismayo, Somalia demanded Islamists to leave the city as fighting between Islamists and forces supported by Ethiopians is increasing. Leader of the Ogaden subclan, Muhammed Arab said that 36 elders of various clans and subclans met with Islamist leaders and tried to convince them that fighting against the forces will not be fruitful. Somali Islamists are supported by fighters from countries, including Yemen, Pakistan and Syria, reports Ethiopian officials.
