POINT OF ENTRY.

The article presents information on the eight-day workshop, part of professional development program organized by the Save Ellis Island Foundation on the Ellis Island. Many of the teachers offered their students some lessons on immigration in the U.S., primarily through standard literary selections. The Ellis Island lectures, tours, and activities formed the basis of detailed lesson units the participants crafted as part of the workshop.
