Abstract

The article presents history and criticism of the postcolonial English-language Indic fiction of Salman Rushdie and Vikram Seth. The focus is on the books "Midnight's Children" and "A Suitable Boy," which deal with the hybridization of the English language with Indian vernacular languages, and politicization of English.
