Changing the Guard.

The article reports on the Democrats' first week in charge of the House and Senate. The House passed a number of ethics reforms and began a 100-hour period in which they hope to accomplish a number of reforms, including an increase in the minimum wage, an increase in federal funds for stem cell research, implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission, repealing tax breaks for oil companies, halving interest rates on student loans, and allowing government to negotiate Medicare prices.
