Abstract
- Roupala sessiliflora, a new species endemic to Costa Rica is described and illustrated. This new taxon is somewhat related to R. mexicana, but differs by its sessile flowers and shorter tepals. In addition, it is similar to R. cordifolia, but R. sessiliflora differs by its broadly elliptic to obovate leaf blades, cuneate at the base, sessile flowers, and shorter tepals.
