Abstract

The article discusses a study conducted by researchers from the United States, which isolated and characterized a long-sought second form of acetylsalicylic acid known in most households as aspirin. The crystal form and molecules of aspirin were investigated. The researchers filed an international patent application for the putative new form of aspirin in April 2006.
