Abstract
- The article discusses the first use of Hotteterre-Style late Baroque recorders by composer Jean-Baptiste Lully. A brief description of a late Baroque recorder is provided. The changes in the tone-qualities of the wind instruments which Lully required were basically the same for both the oboe and the recorder. The article also mentions the participation of the Hotteterre family in the early ballets of Lully.
