This article describes the design of the Lago Vista Residence in Lago Vista, Texas. This 900-square-foot vacation home, which is basically an open-plan box clad in ipe wood, also has 600 square feet of outdoor porch under its extended shed roof. The roof cantilevers 13 feet over the concrete-slab patio. The patio cantilevers over a concrete foundation, seeming to hover above the site.
