Abstract

The article offers a summary of several human rights cases. In the Sadik Önder versus Turkey case and Çolak and Filizer versus Turkey case, the European Court of Human Rights held that there had been a violation of Article 3, which is the prohibition of torture or inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. In the Voggenreiter versus Germany case, the European Court of Human Rights held that there had been a violation of the applicant's rights under the right to a fair trial. In the case of Haas versus the Netherlands, the Court held that there had been no violation of the applicant's right under the right to respect for private and family life, the right to an effective remedy and the prohibition of discrimination.
