Alkaloids from Crinum moorei introduced into Georgia.

Abstract

The article presents a study that investigates alkaloid contents from Crinum moorei plants which were collected in Georgia. Alkaloids are isolated by treating the plants with CHCl3. These experiments show that alkaloid contents are 0.15% in the aerial parts; 0.42% in bulbs; and 0.61% in roots. The yeild of pharmacologically active alkaloid galanthamine were 0.03%, 0.07 and 0.08 from the aerial part, bulb and roots respectively.
