Abstract: The article focuses on the impact a 2006 decision by India to allow the practice of dual citizenship has had on former Indian residents worldwide. The case of Dr. Sudhir Parikh, who arrived in the United States from India in 1976, became a citizen in 1986, and has decided to become a citizen of India again in 2006, is presented as an example.
