NHS reveals trends in eye care services.

Abstract: The article reports on the trends in eye care services, according to a survey conducted by the Great Britain National Health Service. The survey focused on sight test volumes, and on the ophthalmic workforce in 2005-2006. The increase was greatest for patients aged over 60 whereas more modest increases were recorded for under 16. The vast majority of sight tests are carried out by optometrists with ophthalmic medical practitioners.
