The article features several seashells that are native in Canada. Populations of Northern Abalone or Haliotis kamtschatkana have been reduced and fragmented. It says that the pearly glow of the moon is resembled by Lewis' Moon Snail or Euspira lewisii. Pacific Pink Scallop or Chlamys hastata has two halves that open like a pocketbook.
