Abstract

The article presents a study on the risk factors for Trichomonas vaginalis infection among women and their male partners in Moshi Urban District, Northern Tanzania. The objective of the study is to know the predictors of T. vaginalis. A total of 1440 women and 588 men were interviewed and specimens for STD and T. vaginalis testing were collected. Having a partner with T. vaginalis is the key risk factor in acquiring such. There is higher prevalence of T. vaginalis in women than with men.
