In the Dominican Republic the cashew has good acceptance for the apple and nut. There is considerable variability due to harvesting from both organized commercial orchards and isolated trees. The objective of this paper was to select and characterize superior clones. Variables measured were cropping potential, fruit weight, canopy form, and wind tolerance. The selections were collected as seed. Flowering was not uniform. Flowering began 8 months after planting. There is considerable variation among the improved seedlings.
